Guides people through the service in a way that is clear and helps people to focus on the content of what is happening. Links different parts of the service (eg songs) to the main themes from the Scriptures/sermon that day.
In the morning we lead from the lectern up on the platform, in the evening we lead from the floor.
In the morning, we usually pray as a service team (leader, musicians and preacher) before the service. In the evening there is a prayer meeting from 6:45-6:55 which is good to be there for at least some of.
A couple of notes on specific elements:
- Please check that the people rostered to readings and prayers are there before the service starts.
- As a general rule, have people sit for confession (reflecting humility), and stand for creeds (reflecting that we are declaring our faith),
- In terms of language we use to help people know what we are doing: prayers from screen (eg confession prayers, the Lord's prayer) are 'prayed together' (not 'said'); creeds are 'said together' or 'declared together'.
Thank you for the wonderful work you do for the loving Lord Jesus Christ.
