Roster Role: SPOTR 9:30 Bible Reader

Edit

1. Reading out the Bible readings allocated for the day, having practiced it in advance.

2. Please use the NIV 2011 translation (a copy will be provided on a printout if needed).

3. Introduce the Bible reading clearly, e.g., 'a reading from Mark's Gospel, chapter 1, beginning at verse 1' (point people to the church Bible page number which will be on the screen).
4. Leave a pause for people to find it in their Bibles.
5. Read the reading relatively slowly and clearly.
6. Leave a short pause, and then say, 'this is the word of the Lord' (the people will respond 'praise be to God').

(You won't need to move the lectern microphone - volume etc can be adjusted from the sound desk)

If you would like to think about how to improve as someone who publicly reads God's word, this video has some great (if challenging!) thoughts:https://www.thepastorsheart.net/podcast/better-public-bible-reading-simon-camilleri )

Thank you for the wonderful work you do for the loving Lord Jesus Christ.
